Uncovering History Beneath the Surface – Victorian Hallway Restoration in Exeter
Hidden beneath decades of carpet, this original Victorian tiled hallway in a beautiful period property had lost its vibrancy. The tiles were dulled, stained, and overlooked for years.
We began by carefully lifting the old carpet and removing layers of adhesive, dirt, and paint. Using specialist cleaning solutions and mechanical agitation, we deep-cleaned the surface, extracting grime from both the tiles and grout lines. Once restored to their original condition, we repaired any damaged sections and sealed the floor with a breathable, satin-finish sealer, enhancing the intricate detail and rich colours of the design.
The outcome is a striking, character-rich entrance that celebrates the property’s heritage and charm, lovingly restored with care and precision.
